Land Degradation
Unsustainable land use, increasing population pressure, and climate change drive land degradation in the region. This undermines efforts towards attaining food security and sustainable development goals.
What We Do
- We work with member states to implement national land policies and the IGAD Land Governance Strategy.
- We work with member states and partners to enhance coordination and collaboration in sustainable utilisation and management of land resources.
- We provide technical and institutional capacity development in the sustainable management of land resources.
- We work with partners to support member countries in land resources management related research, technology and knowledge management.
